Above: An 1894 Mt. Washington Glass Company ad that illustrates the company's Isis pattern, cut in two ranks in order to accomodate the shape of the pitcher.


Below: A selection of motifs/patterns taken from the earliest extant catalog of J. Hoare & Company, c1890 (ACGA reprint, 1992). These motifs/patterns were also cut by most contemporary cutting shops, but sometimes different names were used. The images here have been enhanced by the writer by darkening the lines that represent the major miter cuts, resulting in considerably greater clarity.
